WARRIORS BOLOGNA 19 – DOLPHINS ANCONA 36

“Vincere non è tutto, ma è l’unica cosa che conta” diceva Boniperti e questo mantra è il sunto della gara di Bologna dove i GLS Dolphins hanno vinto pur giocando male. L’assenza del qb Cravens e di altri giocatori è stata parzialmente compensata dal rientro ufficiale di Raffaele Rotelli nella secondaria. Tuttavia chi pensava di fare un sol boccone dei Guerrieri emiliani è rimasto deluso. Sia chiaro, i padroni di casa non hanno mai avuto la chance di mettere le mani sui due punti, piuttosto il problema è stato dei marchigiani che per sufficienza e presunzione hanno tenuto viva una partita altrimenti segnata. I giocatori di coach Parker hanno giocato da Dolphins solamente nel terzo quarto, dopo la strigliata dell’intervallo, mentre nei primi due periodi si sono adeguati al livello degli avversari commettendo una serie infinita di falli personali; mai visti tutti assieme nell’ultima decade. Per concludere anche l’arbitraggio di sabato era è apparso non scevro da errori… <Sicuramente i due fuorigioco del nostro attacco non c’erano – commenta coach Andrea Polenta – a mio avviso c’erano diversi holding sulla nostra d-line. Il coach emiliano Nobile dopo aver avuto conferma dell’assenza di Cravens mette cinque uomini in linea e marcaura uomo a uomo sui ricevitori. Prima azione dorica con Grodhaus che invece di correre lancia in profondità per Zani ma trova un acrobatico intercetto ad una mano di Lorenzo Vai. Bologna entra sulle trenta dei Dolphins ed il qb Sayre trova in meta l’altro yankee Stokes. La trasformazione da due punti non riesce ed i Warriors vanno sul 6-0. Ancona lancia uno screen su Dazzani, una corsa interna che chiude ancora di più la difesa e poi coach Aquinati libera Groadhaus su di una qb keep esterna che sfruttando i precisi blocchi dei ricevitori marchigiani apre l’autostrada a Cemeren. Fino alla fine. 6-7 Dolphins con la trasformazione di Dazzani. Bologna ci riprova ma la difesa dorica piazza un paio di sack con Genga e con il baby Fiorini. Fine quarto. I Warriors non trovano la luce. Ancona risponde con qualche lancio corto di Grodhaus ed azioni di corsa che portano alla seconda meta della serata sempre dell’atleta dell’Ohio. 6-14 con Dazzani che è automatico alla trasformazione. Bologna non muove palla. In linea di difesa i GLS sono già orfani di “Big Mike” Luciani e restano privi di Fiorini che viene messo a riposo dal trainer Magistrelli per una forte contusione. Ed ecco che sale in cattedra Parker Richardson l’atleta del “Rome City Institute”, scelto per il secondo anno dai Dolphins, che per cinque minuti diventa inarrestabile placcando anche le mosche. Arriva anche un fumble ed i dorici hanno la chance di segnare prima del riposo allungando. Ed invece uno screen di Grodhaus su Blackburn incompleto viene interpretato come passaggio indietro. Stokes raccoglie la palla a terra e la riporta in meta per il 12-14. I Warriors Bologna vanno per la trasformazione da due punti per il pareggio ed una pass ricevuto almeno tre yard fuori dal campo rischia di venir dato per buono da una interpretazione naif di un ref. Nulla di fatto. Si va al riposo sul 12-14. Coach Parker si fa sentire con i suoi come raramente accade toccando corde evidentemente giuste se e vero che al rientro in campo in un amen i Dolphins si ritrovano sul 12-29. Si inizia con il triplete di Grodhaus su corsa. Arrivano ottime ricezioni da Fred Orlandini e Gianfelici. La difesa GLS sterilizza l’attacco Warriors senza dare luce al qb Sayre segnando addirittura con il fenomenale Richardson che blocca un punt e poi riporta il cuoio in meta. Trasformazione da due punti su Zani. Sul 12-29 i Dolphins decidono di iniziare le rotazioni con i ragazzi delle giovanili che entrano tutti a fare esperienza. In cabina di regia ci va Zani e la gara si trascina con qualche fallo inutile e decisamente sciocco dei marchigiani che regalano a Bologna l’ultima meta del 19-36 dopo che Zani ha comunque segnato su corsa. Da segnalare l’infortunio di Diego Rossini che lascia la linea orfana della seconda pedina importante dopo l’incidente occorso a Sesta anche se, a dire il vero, il nazionale Under 19 Rosati schierato dal secondo quarto non ha sbagliato nulla. Ora bisognerà ripartire subito con la testa alla gara del 25 aprile quando al Mandela, ore 19.00, scenderanno i Frogs Legnano.
